Mountain Culture & GABS Wanderlust NEIPA x The Offspring - Smash

I'M JUST A SUCKER WITH A NEW ENGLAND ALE. OH HEY YEAH YEAH, OH YEAH YEAH, OH YEAH YEAH, OH YEAH YEAH

The next album pick is one of the best albums of the 90’s; the breakout Offspring album “Smash; the album that helped bring U.S punk into the mainstream.

With a couple of albums under their belt and a growing following, the amazing; melodic punk and great song writing was a huge hit, topping the charts in Australia and making the Top 5 in another 10 countries. In February 1994, Bad Religion guitarist and the founder of Epitaph Records Brett Gurewitz knew they were onto a good thing, that when listening to the final mixes of the album drove around the block 20 times in order to hear the music over and over again. The album, at the time was best-selling album ever released on an independent label.

The album was recorded on a tiny budget on $20,000 and the band were going into the studio when it was empty to get recording time at a discount rate. With songs like "Come Out and Play", "Self Esteem" and "Gotta Get Away" hitting the airwaves, these songs and this album became the songs of the 90’s teenage and 20’s generation. Just like most people of this generation, listening to this album for the first time was a mind blowing experience, an experience still had by so many fans of this album today.

This album could have best the outro going around. The riff in the Smash outro is top notch and never gets old.

A mind blowing experience listening to an awesome punk record needs an amazing brew. Just like the band and Epitaph Records proved to be an excellent combination; so has the combination of Mountain Culture and our friends from the GABS Festival have come up with a brilliant combo.

The debut from Mountain Culture for GABS is a beauty. The combo of the best Citra and Sabro hops, and the signature yeast strain that is so good in all Mountain Culture beers is the best, creating a hazy, smooth and juicy little number with stone fruit and grapefruit flavours really pumping along so well with the modern punk classic.
