Mpbrew Brown Ale x Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream

The next pick is from of the absolute monsters from the 90’s rock era, the band that started in Chicago, U.S and made it big in the rock world. The band is the @smashingpumpkins, and the album is their brilliant second release, “Siamese Dream”. The band struggled with immense pressure before recording, with Billy Corgan feeling pressure to make the next great album. At the same time, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin was undergoing an increasingly severe addiction to heroin, guitarist James Iha and bassist D'arcy Wretzky had recently ended a romantic relationship as well as Corgan suffering from depression also.

The band moving to Triclops Studios in Marietta, Georgia for the album sessions, so they could avoid local friends and distractions and the having Butch Vig producing was a great combination; combine that with tight musicianship and great song writing made for a brilliant album. Melodic, hard rocking and powerful are great ways to describe this album. This album has been widely regarding as being stand alongside Nirvana’s “Nevermind” and @soundgarden “Superunknown” as one of the decade's finest (and most influential) rock albums.

This album also contains what we think is one of the best songs of the 90’s; the perfect track “Disarm”; which Corgan has referred to a song about the shaky relationship he had with his parents while growing up.

We love this album so much and the beer is one that we love just as much. The brew is the brilliant Brown Ale from @mpbrewery. We love the rich flavours of chocolate, nuts and toffee with aromas of brown sugar and raisins and is a full bodied, moreish and smooth brew that goes down perfectly with this brew when both are absolutely cranking.
