Pikemaker Irish Dry Stout by Slieve Bloom Brewing Company
.
Made in the Slieve Bloom mountains and sold on site, Pikemaker uses just four ingredients and may well be the best stout you've never heard of. Dry stout rarely follows the array of flavours and infusions typical with milk stouts, Russian imperials etc. and so achieveing a characteristic taste represents a challenge. Pikemaker has a full body and almost chocolatey aftertaste whilst retaining the smooth dryness you'd expect. Not a beer ever likley to encounter in the wild, but definitely one worth looking for. If you ever go to Ireland and visit the Slieve Bloom mountains, definitely need to go find this pub/brewery.
