Sharkinator White IPA
Since I'm on an IPA streak, here's another IPA I'm reviewing. A white IPA at that.. which is actually what they call a marriage between an IPA and a Belgian Wit.
This hybrid style poured with a hazy pale yellow body. I picked this to pair with a steamboat lunch today with a close friend but we had differing views on whether it was apt for the shabu shabu that we had. Rethinking about this, it might be a better paired with mala hot pot given the light, refreshing and moderately high carbonation which could help cleanse the numbness from the malaness.
On the other hand, @nixxynixxynixxy (the friend I'm naming here) felt it paired better with light food or fried food or a plate of classic beer battered fish and chips.
It also has a little sourness from the wheat base together with the fruity aroma and perhaps because of this the hoppiness was more balanced (didn't last long and didn't came across as too overwhelming).
Shout out to @nixxynixxynixxy for sponsoring this beer. 🍻
