Sibei Ho Belgian Witbier, Archipelago Brewery, 4.2% ABV

Β
Not a fan of wheat beers but had the privilege of trying a few as friends gave me as gifts previously. Had this one most recently. Locally named using hokkien (common dialect used amongst Chinese in Singapore), this means 'really good' if directly translated.

So far I feel that witbiers have to be benchmarked with Hoegaarden. While this beer style tend to be on the sour end, Hoegaarden had made it rather milder and very drinkable.

This take on witbier turned out to be quite bold. The orange peel was a little over the top, might have made it more bitter and sour. While not really great drinking alone, it might turn out better paired with some food to balance out these extremes in the taste profile.

Also, don't forget to roll the bottle before opening it!
