Stomping Ground Beer Raspberry Smash Sour x Spiderbait - Hot Water and Milk

The next pick delivered the #1 track of the @triple_j #triplejhottest100 of 1996. It’s an album we’ve posted before, but now we have a new beer and some fun info about this classic 90’s album and the band and am even more fun brew to match.

The Album is the brilliantly fun “Ivy and the Big Apples” from @spiderbait.

In 1997, the album was nominated for Album of the Year, was voted Best Alternative Release. “Buy Me a Pony” was nominated for Single of the Year and the Cover Art and its artist, Bass Player Janet English received a nomination in the @aria_official awards of 1997.

The album peaked at #3 on the @aria_official charts in 1996/1997 following its release on the 14th October 1996.

After becoming stars of the alternative music scene with their 2nd release “The Unfinished Galleon of Finley Lake”, this album cemented the band’s place as one of the most popular bands of the later 90’s.

Hailing from the small New South Wales country town of Finley, their sound combined punk, hard rock and some more melodic numbers was a great combination and is a favourite amongst many music fans.

Now for the beer, and this fun, rockin’ release needed something equally fun and rockin’. The fun we found this time was the Raspberry Smash Sour from @stompinggroundbeer. A red fruity spin on a German Wheat Beer, we love this light, bright, Raspberry filled brew of fun. It really does pack a decent punch, just like the album and we think they go brilliantly together.
