Beer Reviews

Three Dimensional, Barleywine, The Eighth State Brewing Company

A subtle dessert/pastry nose reminiscent of chocolate-coated strawberries with a tinge of the expected dark fruits scent. Pours surprisingly thin but this did not translate into the taste and mouthfeel at all. The holy amalgamation of four vanilla beans variety mixed in such an interesting way. The thin pour somehow balloons in taste once it hits your tongue, coating your entire mouth with a rich vanilla fragrance. The vanilla also seemingly lasts forever and is immediately followed by a lingering perceived saltiness, adding a whole another dimension. Zhihao pointed out that the vanilla's astringency took a step forward as the beer warmed and I couldn't agree more.

Vanilla bomb!!!
