Ambleside Distillers no.8 Botanical Gin

I cave in when well designed or eye catching labels befall me and this silver and blue patterned one did just that! Definitely one for the citrus lovers out there!

This gem, handcrafted, has its own personality. On the nose, it’s a vibrant citrus at the fore. You can’t miss it! To taste, it’s incredibly soft and smooth and the lovely flavours from the oranges come through. There are subtle flavours of coriander lingering at the background. I struggled to taste the star anise notes but that could just be me!

Enjoyed this with soda and complemented the citrusy notes featured in the gin with homemade dehydrated orange wheels.

I paired this serve with a traditional Indian street snack - chick peas tossed in dried chillies (lots of ‘em!), curry leaves, mustard seeds and onions. An absolutely gastronomic affair!
