Isle of Harris Gin

We fired up the bbq yesterday and was thoroughly pleased at the variety of condiments that were going to pair the barbecued food.

A must on the menu was the usual Malaysian snack called ‘tauhu bakar’ (tofu pockets stuffed with vegetables), a firm favourite at home, served with a thick, black fruit salad dressing known as the ‘rojak’ sauce. Loving the char on the outside and the smoky flavours of these tofu pockets…..honestly nothing quite beats the authentic flavours of charcoal(the environmental friendly version)!

To complement this and in celebration of International Scottish Gin Day, I pulled out the Isle of Harris masterpiece. A beautiful gin with juniper at the fore, citrus to follow, sweetness which emerges to a long, warm peppery finish. A simple yet contemporary twist to a tradition gin!

Happy International Scottish Gin Day my dear friends!
