In a move very on-brand with its name, Whistlepig has announced the third release of PiggyBank Rye, a limited edition 10 year old Rye whiskey bottled in a ... you guessed it, golden pig-shaped decanter.
The 1L porcine decanter is based on a 19th century Berkshire Bitter Pig, and celebrates WhistlePig’s standing as the world’s most awarded Rye Whiskey.
Within, this iteration of Whistlepig's flagship 10 Year Old Rye is bottled at 110 proof instead of the standard 100 proof of WhistlePig Small Batch Rye.
It is said to have notes of mint and dill, with light notes of truffle in the background. On the palate, one can expect notes of black pepper herbaceousness, tobacco, citrus peel, and anise.
This ends off with a long and spicy finish with rich oak tannins.
WhistlePig PiggyBank Rye Gold Edition will be available from Nov 20 at a suggested retail price of $299.99.
