Buffalo Trace's esteemed sister brand A. Smith Bowman has announced the return of its Cask Strength Virginia Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The fourth iteration of its kind, this offering has been aged for 10 years and bottled at a whopping 139.7 proof.
Cask Strength #4 is comprised of selected barrels by A. Smith Bowman distiller David Bock. The non-chill-filtered whiskey is said to have aromas of tree fruits like plums and apple, with leather on the back. On the palate, there are apparently red fruit flavors like raspberries and chocolate with some cinnamon. The finish is said to boast an apple throughline.
This latest bourbon release will be available via online lottery from February 24th to March 3rd (noon EST). Winners must collect their bottles in person at the distillery's gift shop, with a suggested retail price is $99.99.
