Redbreast Celebrates 20th Anniversary Of Iconic 15 Year Old With High Proof Limited Edition
For its 20th anniversary, Redbreast is releasing a limited edition cask strength version of the iconic Redbreast 15 Year Old, this time matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry-seasoned casks.
The Redbreast 15 Year Old was first introduced in 2005 as a one-off bottling, and the latest anniversary expression follows the addition of an 18-year-old aged in four types of casks to its permanent range last year.
Master Blender Dave McCabe has said that bottling the expression at natural cask strength allows the whiskey to fully showcase its complexity and vibrancy. Only 15 casks were bottled.
The whiskey is said to show bright and crisp citrus notes, herbal undertones, and a lively spice character alongside dried fruits and toasted oak.
Bottled at 56.3% ABV, it will be available from 12pm on 11 June exclusively through the Midleton Distillery Collection for €130 (US$148).
