Ardbeg Grills Us With BizarreBQ Expression Featuring Experimental BBQ Barrels

Ardbeg has yet another limited expression awaiting us - the Ardbeg BizarreBQ.

The soon to be unveiled expression is a collaboration with DJ BBQ Christian Stevenson, a Youtube producer who documents his barbeque adventures, having previously featured a BBQ series with Ardbeg. This was followed up with Ardbeg Bizarre-BQ World Tour.

The expression itself is said to feature double-charred oak barrels, PX barrels and perhaps more curiously "experimental BBQ barrels", which are oak barrels toasted over a brazier packed with seaweed and birchwood. It is bottled at 50.9% ABV and is recommended to be paired with of course, BBQ.

“Ardbeg BizarreBQ is certainly a hare-brained idea, but with DJ BBQ’s help I was able to cook up something truly incredible. Puffs of charcoal and soot mingle with smoky wood and aromatic herbs and spices.

“The undeniable smell of bonfire and barbecue embers linger in the background. Deep, warming smoke follows in flame-grilled steak, chilli oil, cured leather and clove. If there’s one Ardbeg you want with you grill-side, it’s this one.”

- Bill Lumsden, Master Distiller for Ardbeg

The Ardbeg BizarreBQ is said to put forth aromatic notes of "hickory smoked ham, grilled artichokes, flamed steak and cinnamon dusted espresso".
