Ardbeg Pays Tribute To Ancient Settlement Trudernish With 15 Year Old Of Chocolate Lime, Dried Herbs & Fudge Sauce

At Trudernish, just a mile from Kildalton Church, lies the ancient chapel of Cill A' Chubein (or Cill Chuibain) which presides over Islay's Enchanted Cape, and remains Islay's oldest chapel. It was peculiarly built without mortar and was said to even have featured a holy well. Today, even though the historic chapel lies in ruins hidden in the thick of the woods, it remains important to Islay's history and religion.

And so it appears that Ardbeg believes its about time we get to know of and remember some of the key features of its home - with an Ardbeg 15 Year Old Trudernish expression!

Here's what Ardbeg has to say: The ancient settlement of Trudernish - part of Islay's Enchanted Cape - inspires this beguilingly smoky, creamy dram. Suffused in notes of woodsmoke, the spirit spends time in bourbon, new charred oak and Oloroso sherry casks for a rich vanilla essence. Aged fifteen years for a mellow creaminess.

A Smoky Dram Of Creamy Harmony

A curious trace of EARTHY PEAT flits from the glass. Aromas of WOODSMOKE drift, with handfuls of DRIED HERBS and the essence of CHOCOLATE LIME. Tastes of VANILLA and a scatter of NUTS fold into FUDGE SAUCE with a decadent creaminess.

The new Ardbeg Trudernish 15 Year Old is bottled at 48.8% ABV.
