For the first time ever, whisky brand Ballantine’s has released a single grain expression.
Created by master blender Sandy Hyslop, the whisky was made by blending grain whiskies from Strathclyde Distillery and features a double cask finish in both rum and extra-charred American oak barrels.
The release is said to have fruity and floral flavours, with notes of white peach, charred pineapple, red apples, lemon zest and toasted almonds.
Stepping away from the usual Ballantine's bottle, this particular expression is housed in an amber-coloured bottle with a metallic copper crest.
Ballantine’s Single Distillery is a permanent addition to the brand’s range, and will be available from November 2024 globally.
Prices may vary according to region.
