Jack Daniel's and Coca-Cola's range of RTD drinks in the U.S. are set to see a reduction in ABV, corresponding with an increase in volume.
The ABV for both Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola and Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola Zero has been lowered from 7% to a ‘more sessionable’ 5%, while the size of the can has been increased from 12oz (355ml) to 16oz (475ml).
The changes were intended to meet current consumer demands for lighter, RTD cocktails. The format is said to enable more convenience, portability and on-premise efficiency.
The new sized formats are permanent SKUs with national distribution across the US, with twelve-can packs available to purchase. Individual cans are priced at an MSRP of US$3.99 each.
The announcement might herald the first in what Brown-Forman has planned as a global push for Jack Daniel’s this year.
