Brugal Unveils Coconut Toasted Cask Aged Rum With Brugal Colección Visionaria Edición 03 Coconut

Brugal has launched the Brugal Colección Visionaria Edición 03 Coconut, an expression matured in casks toasted with Dominican coconuts.

The expression also marks the final bottling in Brugal’s Colección Visionaria series. The third release follows previous Colección Visionaria expressions that utilized the same wood-aromatizing process, with earlier editions leveraging organic Dominican cacao beans and local Arabica coffee.

Before receiving Brugal’s column-distilled Dominican rum, the French oak casks for Colección Visionaria Edición 03 Coconut were filled with fresh coconuts, which infused into the wood during the heating process before being removed.

The expression is said by the brand to be ‘an attractive, tropical rum, deeply rooted in the brand identity, that maintains the layered complexity of the Colección Visionaria series’.

Released information promises notes of vanilla, burnt sugar, citrus peel and coconut water, as well as a nuanced smoke character.

Six batches will be produced in total, amounting to fewer than 35,000 bottles.

Bottled at 45% ABV, it is available now in the US – to coincide with National Rum Month – with an MSRP of US$69.99.
