Bruichladdich Adds To 25th Anniversary Releases With Greener Still Highlighting Sustainability

Bruichladdich has unveiled the next part of its ongoing 25th Anniversary celebrations, this time unveiling the long awaited Greener Still. A 15-year-old single malt, it completes a special-edition trilogy alongside earlier 2026 releases Yellow Submarine and Old Skool.

The expression is a nod to the distillery's iconic 2000s "Still Series" which explored the outer bounds of sherry, wine, and bourbon cask finishes on Bruichladdich's whisky. This time, Greener Still pivots the spotlight from wood to terroir, at the same time honoring Bruichladdich’s shift toward sustainable agriculture and eco-conscious distillation.

The whisky is distilled from a combination of organic, biodynamic and Bere barley, with each cereal is said to play a significant role.

The Greener Still expression pays homage to the brand’s previous Still Series.

The biodynamic barley is an organic mainland Scottish barley grown without synthetic fertilizers and biodynamic grain sourced from Wiltshire’s carbon-positive Yatesbury House Farm. It is the sole deviation from Bruichladdich’s all-Scottish barley mandate. 

The organic barley is also as named, and farmed in Scotland without artificial inputs.

The use of Bere barley is not unfamiliar to Bruichladdich. An ancient and genetically diverse variety, it was cultivated on Orkney in partnership with the University of the Highlands and Islands’ Agronomy Institute.

Master blender Adam Hannett said that the expression should have "soft florals on the nose, ripe orchard fruit and honeyed sweetness on the palate, and this effortless, velvety finish with a lick of vanilla and coastal freshness".

Environmental sustainability has driven Bruichladdich ever since its revival. Over the past two decades, the distillery has spearheaded eco-conscious innovation across its operations; It has pioneered regenerative agriculture, converting waste via anaerobic digestion, and adopting low-carbon solutions like biofuels and Green Flame renewable heating.

Each bottle is bottled at 51.6% ABV and has an MSRP of £120 (US$162).
