Buffalo Trace and Chris Stapleton's Traveller Whisky Adds Full Proof Edition to Lineup

Buffalo Trace Distillery and musician Chris Stapleton 's collaborative Traveller Whisky will now have a new edition: The Traveller Whiskey Full Proof.
As the name suggests, the expression is a 121-proof (60.5% ABV) extension of the whisky's original Blend No. 40, and marks the brand's first line extension since its launch in January 2024.
According to the distillery, Traveller Full Proof promises notes of caramelized sugar, baking spice, toasted oak, vanilla, toffee and dark fruit.
Produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, the original Blend No. 40 comes in at 90 proof (45% ABV). Expressions with higher proof are often said to have a more intense presence of oak, spice and sweetness while adding weight to itsmouthfeel.
Buffalo Trace Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley said: “Across our products, we like to experiment with proof as a way to bring out different flavor characteristics already present in the whiskey.
“When we started experimenting with proof in Traveller’s blended recipe, flavors and finishes came to the forefront that aren’t as apparent in the 90 proof blend. It’s remarkable how different the blended recipe responds to proof variation compared to our straight bourbons.”
