Diageo’s Bulleit Frontier Whiskey has unveiled the Bulleit 95 Rye, a limited-edition 20 Year Old straight rye that is also the oldest rye expression in the brand's history.
Distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and matured in Kentucky, the expression features Bulleit’s classic 95% rye mash bill. The limited release was developed by Bulleit Distilling Co. and blended by Nicole Austin, Diageo’s director of American whiskey liquid development.
Austin collaborated with the Bulleit team to handpick and blend barrels capable of aging for 20 years while still preserving the brand's signature flavor profile.
Bottled at 68.5% ABV, the rye is said to offer aromas of seasoned oak, warm baking spice, and dried fruit, along with palate notes of caramelised sweetness, dark fruit, and spice.
The expression will be limited to 1,776 individually numbered bottles as a nod to the 250th anniversary of the United States. It is available at the Bulleit Distillery in Shelbyville, Kentucky, and select cities in the US starting in July, with an MSRP of US$299.
