In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of California's top winery "Silver Oak", for which JALUX is the general agent in Japan, JALUX collaborated with Ichiro's Malt to create a set of Ichiro's Malt Chichibu Silver Oak Cask Finish 2022 and Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, which will be sold in October.

The whisky has been aged for 6 to 10 years in Bourbon barrels, and subsequently finished in wine barrels that previously held Silver Oak's Napa Valley wine. It is bottled at 48% ABV.

Silver Oak Cellars, founded in 1972 by Ray Duncan and Justin Mayer, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022. With the slogan "Life is a Cabernet", the duo produces Cabernet aged in American oak from Napa Valley and Sonoma's Alexander Valley.

"This whisky is strongly influenced by barrels during long aging. The Silver Oak barrels used for aging this time reminds us of coniferous trees in the morning in the sweetness and maturity of the single malt whiskey itself. It gives a refreshing impression like this. We bottled it with non-chill filtering and natural color so that you can enjoy the original character of the whisky. Please take your time and enjoy the complex taste that changes over time."

- Ichiro Akuto, Founder of Chichibu Distillery

"A blend of five Bordeaux varietals gives the wine its nuance and diversity of aromas and flavors, while aging in American oak barrels creates vanilla and coconut aromas and a creamy palate. A powerful wine in a hot, dry vintage, but with dark fruit aromas and a round presence, a true classic silver oak style."
