Dominican rum producer Brugal has added its second edition to its Coleccion Visionaria series, this time inspired by Dominican Arabica coffee beans!

The Coleccion Visionaria series has centered around the distillery's innovative cask toasting technique that is able to imbue the cask with the flavours of various ingredients that allows the rum aged inside to take on those unique flavours without contact with these ingredients.

The first edition saw the use of cacao, and the second now focuses on Arabica coffee beans.

This new rum is a celebration of shared moments and memories, an invitation to enjoy the warmth of good company and the rich, inviting flavors of our homeland." says Brugal's Master Distiller, Jassil Villanueva Quintana.

For Edicion 02, Brugal started out by hand selecting high quality local Arabica coffee beans, after which the distillery toasts the casks loaded with the coffee beans, finally the coffee beans are removed and rum is aged inside these unique casks. For this edition, virgin European oak casks were used.

Official Tasting Notes

Aroma: The journey begins with exceptionally smooth rich notes of caramel and freshly brewed coffee, perfectly balanced with layers of dark chocolate and sweet vanilla.

Taste: Begin with a gentle burst of spices - cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg - adding a refined complexity to the palate. Delicate hints of raisins weave seamlessly into a deep coffee flavour, enriching each sip.

Finish: Finally savour a medium-length finish that is both complex and smooth, leaving a lasting impression of balanced flavours and a lingering smoke that evolves gently.

The Brugal Coleccion Visionaria Edicion 02 is bottled at 45% ABV, and will see a total outturn of 35,000 bottles, priced at US$100.
