Eagle Rare has been a Buffalo Trace staple for years, and often quietly ranks as amongst the top daily sippers, cabinet must haves, regular pick at the store - and over the years, beyond having come to rely so heavily on the classic Eagle Rare 10 Year Old expression, Buffalo Trace has continued to tease us with ever more impossible to obtain grails of the beloved expression, from the annual Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) Eagle Rare 17 Years Old, to the more recently released 20 Year Old Double Eagle Very Rare and of course the Eagle Rare 25 Years Old.

And the reality is, with the latter three being so difficult to get, we've all been more than content to simply stick with the familiar and all too comforting Eagle Rare 10 Year Old, which so generously comes in that slender laser etched wine bottle silhouette that just feels far too classy. 

Yet now, Buffalo Trace seems to be ready to drop a new fifth Eagle Rare - an Eagle Rare 12 Year Old! 

The new expression looks set to debut at 47.5% ABV (95 Proof), which is also a top up to the Eagle Rare 10 Year Old's 45% ABV (90 Proof).
