Fancy whisky straight from the cask? Now you won't have to go all the way to Scotland for a taste of that. Singapore's very own Quaich Bar Collector, the first dedicated whisky bar in the country, is shaking things up a notch with a new interactive cask pouring experience.

They have partnered with independent Scotch whisky bottler Duncan Taylor, and introduced a whisky-serving innovation: the 'Duncan Taylor Smart Casks'.

So, what's the deal with these Smart Casks? Well, as you know, whiskies derive much of their flavour from wooden casks before they are bottled. These Smart Casks allow you to pour your own dram straight from a cask where it had been aging. There is also a range of eight different whiskies on tap for guests to try out.

In our view, the neatest thing about these Smart Casks is that they give you the chance to taste a wide large range of whiskies before you fully commit your liver or your wallet. Guests can can opt for the standard 45ml pour, or a small 15ml tasting portion at a reduced price. Found one you love? You can even buy the whole bottle!

It's all pretty convenient and tech-savvy. Everything - from picking your preferred Scotch whisky, to pouring your drink, to paying for it - can be done via your mobile phone. This gives you the freedom to explore Duncan Taylor's range of Scotches at your own pace.

The folks at the bar are loving it too. The Smart Cask system lets them keep a closer eye on transactions and how everything's running day-to-day. It's even helping them fine-tune their inventory, which means more of the whisky you love, right when you want it.
