Scotch stalwart Glenlivet is releasing a 9 Year Old Reserve Collection Beer Cask Finish that will feature an ex-beer finish using Innis & Gunn imperial stout barrels - a first for the distillery, with a total of 216 bottles released at cask strength.
In celebration of International Beer Day (4th August), the new Glenlivet Beer Cask Finish Edition was finished in barrels previous holding Innis & Gunn's Vanishing Point Imperial Stout.
Glenlivet had loaned Innis & Gunn its barrels which was then used to mature the brewery's Vanishing Point 06 Imperial Stout, this created a single malt that has flavours of "sweet desserts with notes of fruit and spice".
