Rum lovers hear us out! Habitation Velier has got something new that we're sure you've never had before! This is the going to be the first ever Himalayan Single Rum from the Himmaleh Distillery up in the pristine mountainous foothills of Kumaon, Uttarakhand! PS: It's even located amidst a 4 acre tiger preserve!
Founded in just 2023, the family-owned distillery was established by one Ansh Khanna and Samarth Prasad, and has been in the works producing some distinctive Indian spirits that convey a true sense of locality, from single malt whiskies to gins and of course, rum.

The distillery has since announced its goal of producing a 100% Indian barley whisky with its Forsyths pot stills from Scotland, alongside its popular gin Kumaon & I, which is made with 11 locally sourced botanicals and locally sourced spring water.
And so Habitation Velier's induction of Himmaleh's rums will be a first that has not yet even been announced by the distillery its forays into rum making.

For the new Habitation Velier Himmaleh Himalayan Pure Single Rum, it is stated that a Hagyo Still of 1.000 L capacity was used, 100% Pot Still distillation (as is all Habitation Velier represented rums), and is to be made with 100% Indian sugarcane. It appears to be unaged and due for bottling in 2025, at 56% ABV, with congeners of 318.1 gr/hlpa.
Neoli is Himmaleh's interpretation of the local sugarcane fields in the local area. Our goal is to capture a sense of place in the form of our pure single Himalayan rum. This rum with a congeners content at the time of distillation of 318,10 gr/hlpa of which 35,4 are esters, is the result of a blend of four cane varieties. A world premiere.
Kanpai!
