Haiti's Rhum Barbancourt is celebrating its 160th anniversary with a limited edition bottling of its core 5 Stars 8 Year Old expression.

To note, the commemorative bottling contains the same rum as the standard 5 Stars expression but with a special celebratory packaging.

The special design uses silk-screened drawings to highlight the craft and terroir behind Rhum Barbancourt.

The 160th anniversary commemorative bottling is limited to 20,000 bottles worldwide.

As is Barbancourt's speciality, the expression has been finished for several months in new Limousin oak barrels to give “a floral and vanilla nose, a lot of roundness and suppleness due to the very present tannins but without aggressiveness, with a very nice length in the mouth”.

It is priced at 55 EUR and bottled at 43% ABV.
