Are you guys ready for the non-stop jingle? No, not that Merry Christmas stuff, I’m talking about “O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao, ciao” – that’s right, the hit Netflix series Money Heist (or La Casa de Papel) is ready for its finale, premiering on 3 December 2021.
And guess what, Johnnie Walker wants in on the action as well – they’ve partnered with Netflix to produce a special Money Heist-inspired Johnnie Walker Red Label to commemorate the series finale.

On the bottle is the recognisable silhouette of Johnnie Walker’s striding man, this time donning the also instantly recognisable red jumpsuit worn by the Money Heist crew in the show, as well as the face masks that has now become a Halloween staple (popularized by all you lazy Halloweeners). The new design also depicts several of the show’s characters and certain props that you’ll probably spot from the show, but wait, there’s more!
Beneath this seemingly straightforward surface is deception! Which is only fair given the premise of the show’s plot. Put the bottle under a UV light and you’ll be in for a little treat, with hidden messages to uncover, including the parting words of one of the show’s main characters (we won’t spoil it for you).

“Like many fans around the globe, we’ve been gripped by the action unfolding from the fictional underworld of La Casa de Papel,
We’re delighted to be marking the climax of this series through this limited edition design. I’ll be watching the story unfold with a glass of Johnnie Walker in hand and a keepsake bottle to have forever.”
- Julie Branham, Johnnie Walker Global Marketing Director
This Johnnie Walker Red Label La Casa de Papel Limited Edition Design will go on sale 1 November, with a total outturn of 150,000 bottles, priced at $16 USD. It’ll be made available in select markets in Southern Europe and Latin America. ABV is 40%.
Our Take
To be clear, this will be your usual Johnnie Walker Red Label but simply with a commemorative design. And we always have mixed feelings about re-packagings – on the one hand, just to state the obvious, it could look damn incredible and so we’ll close an eye that the bottle is actually the same liquid, but on the other hand, when they go for astronomical resale prices like the recent Hibiki Harmony Ryusui Hyakka (last I saw it retailing for 12x RRP), it just seems ridiculous.
But it takes two hands to clap of course, the distillery or brand releasing the limited edition repackaging is just as guilty if what they’ve done is to take a very common bottling and only release a very small quantity of a limited design – it becomes simple economics that demand would engulf supply and push prices sky high.
Here, Johnnie Walker has in our eyes, done a great job, producing some 150,000 of such bottles, which is a sufficiently large outturn that most fans will be able to get their hands on it at reasonable, if not RRP prices. That’s fantastic and truly well in the spirit of celebrating the occasion with fans worldwide.
As fans of the show ourselves, and backed up by a total outturn of 150,000 bottles (sorry not sorry, flippers!) priced at $16 USD, come on, what are you even waiting for? Go get one.
And to fellow fans round the world, get ready for the last hurrah.
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao, ciao!
