Jura Whisky Goes To Singapore Cocktail Festival 2023 Serving Up Exclusive Tipples From Local Makers

Do you know what it takes to get to Jura Distillery? First off, it's off the West Coast of Scotland and is only accessible via one road, and has one pub, one distillery, and requires a flight, followed by a car ride to a ferry, which then brings you to an island, by which you then cross to Jura by another ferry, and then you need to get your hands on a car to get you to the distillery itself.

So why do people head to this island of 231 people? The scenery is breathtaking, its home to the third largest whirlpool, with insane sunsets, fields and lochs.

It's not the most accessible place, but it also does make pretty solid whiskies.

And if you're worried you can't get there, well Jura's coming to fans in Singapore at the Singapore Cocktail Festival 2023.

The Scotch distillery has worked with three Singaporean hobbyists to create some Jura whisky tipples exclusive to the festival, which you can catch live in action if you're headed down.

First up is the West Oriental from Leon Low, who runs a homebar - Bar59. This calls for Jura 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch, Homemade Chysanthemum and Jade Oolong Tea cordial and Jade Oolong Tea.

"The complex and elegant cocktail balances the bold flavours of Jura whisky with the delicate sweetness of chrysanthemum tea, and the subtle earthiness of oolong tea. Enjoy it on a warm spring evening, or any time you want to indulge in a sophisticated and unique cocktail,”

- Leon Low, Bar59

Catch him on 5 May 2023 at the Festival, 5pm - 10.30pm (while drinks last), for his West Oriental take at $15 SGD nett.

This calls for Jura 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch, Teh  O Liqueur by Compendium Spirits, Amaro Montenegro, Homemade Teh O Super Gao (Strong) Syrup and Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice.

“My inspiration for JURA-Teh was to reflect the blending of cultures...Scotch whisky has traditionally been paired with black tea in cocktails, served warm during cold winters in the Scottish Highlands."

Dr Wong, Maple Bar SG

Catch Dr Wong for a Jura-Teh on 6 May 2023 at the Festival from 4.30pm - 10.30pm (while drinks last), for $15 SGD nett.
