The hotly popular Japanese distillery is now releasing a Kanosuke Component Series that is a limited edition Distillery Shop only release.

The Kanosuke Component Series comes in a set of three single malts that together makes up the flagship Kanosuke Single Malt.

The three components includes:

1. Ex-Bourbon Cask Single Malt (4,180 JPY / US$28.60),

2. Ex-Shochu Re-Charred Cask Single Malt (4,400 JPY / US$30.10),

3. Ex-Sherry Cask Single Malt (4,620 JPY / US$ 31.60).

1. Ex-Bourbon Cask Single Malt

200 ML / 50% ABV

Matured in ex-bourbon casks, with aroma of peaches and vanilla bean, caramel on the palate, and a spicy finish with hints of white pepper.​

Official Tasting Notes

Colour: Light Golden

Aroma: Pear, Peach, Azalea Flower Nectar, Vanilla Bean, Fresh Baked Butter Pound Cake​.

Taste: Dried Apricot, Caramel, White Pepper, Gingerbread​.

Finish: Sweetness from Ripe White Peaches followed by Warm Cereal Grains and Oak.

2. Ex-Shochu Re-Charred Cask Single Malt 

200 ML / 50% ABV

Matured in re-charred ex-Shochu casks, with aromas of baked apples and custard cake, ginger spice on the palate, with juicy white peach that lingers on the finish.​

Colour: Rose Gold

Aroma: Baked Apples, Custard Cake, Yellow Peach​.

Taste: Ripe Summer Orchard Fruit, Plums, Kumquats, Gingerbread, Vanilla Cream​.

Finish: Tangy Salad Greens, White Peach Chantilly Cream, Pleasant Sweetness.

3. Ex-Sherry Cask Single Malt

200 ML / 50% ABV

Matured in ex-Sherry casks, with aroma of raisins, fresh plums, and a faint smoke, with a gentle grape sweetness and a hint of citrus acidity.

Official Tasting Notes

Colour: Amber

Aroma: Raisins, Earthy Sweet Potato Jelly, Fresh Plums, Faint Smoke.

Taste: Rich Sherry Flavour, Mame Daifuku (Mochi with Sweet Bean Paste), Prune, Marmalade.​

Finish: Gentle grape sweetness with a hint of citrus acidity.
