We are informed that the 2023 core release Kanosuke Single Malt is crafted using all 3 of the distillery's pot stills of varying configurations, which was then aged in ex-Shochu American white oak casks that previously held parent Komasa Jyozo's Mellowed Kozuru Shochu.
A mix of both peated and non-peated malt was used for the expression, fermented using distiller's yeast.

The gorgeous front label commemorates Kanosuke Distillery's founder Yoshitsugu Komasa's grandfather, Kanosuke Komasa, who pioneered cask aging Shochu, thereby creating the award winning Mellowed Kozuru Shochu.
The back label tells us to expect a whisky that is influenced by its East China Sea climate, creating a rich and mellowed whisky that features "flavors and aromas of Orangette, Cinnamon Sugar and Salted Caramel".
We also know so far that the whisky is bottled at 48% ABV, and will go on sale very soon - January 18, 2023, at an RRP of 9,900 Yen (or 72.50 USD)
