Laphroaig's Cairdeas Goes Tequila For The First Time With What Appears To Be El Tesoro

The Cairdeas, whose name is taken from the Gaelic word for kinship and kindred friendship, is a beloved Laphroaig's annual release that is just a little something for the fans, often showcasing something unique or unusual than what we typically get.

And so this time, it appears that Laphroaig is going Tequila with its next Laphroaig Cairdeas release that will spot a Tequila Cask Finish, bottled at 52.7% ABV, and is said to embody a flavour profile of "Cut Grass, Mint, Spicy Smoke"!

This is a first for the iconic Islay distillery, and if we're putting two and two together, it can likely be said that the Tequila cask in question comes from the highly regarded El Tesoro, which just half a decade ago debuted their own Laphroaig whisky cask finished Tequila back in 2021!
