Loch Lomond Unveils The Original Series With Trio Of Oloroso Sherry Cask, Peated Rioja Cask & Original Triple Oak

Launching on 24 March, Highland distillery Loch Lomond has released The Original Series, a trio of single malt whiskies that the the brand says aims to demonstrate ‘flavour innovation at its finest’.
The series is intended highlights Loch Lomond’s versatile production, blending spirits from both its straight-neck and traditional swan-neck stills.
Within the trio exists a pre-existing single malt from the brand’s portfolio, the Loch Lomond The Original Triple Oak, with the addition of two new expressions: Loch Lomond Oloroso Sherry Cask and Peated Rioja Cask.
Master blender Michael Henry crafted each of the three whiskies, whose signature on every bottle is said to be a guarantee of Loch Lomond’s quality.
The trio will be presented in a newly enhanced outer packaging, which carries illustrations of the distillery’s namesake loch in hues of cobalt blue, burgundy and mauve.

Loch Lomond The Original Triple Oak:

The flagship non-age-statement product in the range. While not a new expression from the distillery, it has been given a refreshed look, with additional details that show the impact of cask maturation on the spirit’s signature fruit, honey, and soft-smoke style.

The expression has seen maturation in three types of American oak casks – first-fill, refill, and re-char – and showcases distillate from both the distillery’s straight neck and traditional swan neck stills.

Loch Lomond The Original Triple Oak has an MSRP of £28 (US$37.50) per 700ml bottle and is now available to buy at www.lochlomondwhiskies.com. It will hit the shelves in Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons, and Asda from March 2026 onwards.

The Loch Lomond Oloroso Sherry Cask

Said to be an ‘innovative Highland single malt’, the whisky is distilled in straight neck stills and finished for six months in oloroso Sherry casks, the marriage of these two elements is said to present notes of vanilla, raisins and brown sugar.

The Loch Lomond Peated Rioja Cask

This expression aims to to showcase Loch Lomond’s approach and maturation capabilities. It was crafted in a combination of swan neck and straight neck stills and finished for six months in Rioja wine casks, which allows it to have notes of honey, peach, pear and dark chocolate.

Both single malts are bottled at 40% ABV, and will boast an MSRP of £31 (US$41.50) per 700ml bottle. They are are now available to buy on the distillery’s website and will roll out in various retailers throughout 2026.
