Luisita Rum Marks Distribution In Singapore With Single Barrel Expressions

Philippines first single-estate rum brand is kicking off its distribution in Singapore for the first time, starting with the release of two single barrel expressions: the Luisita Single Barrel 2183 Bourbon and the Luisita Single Barrel Sherry Pedro Ximenez.

Luisita had made its first international showing in Singapore at the 15 Stamford Bar housed in the iconic Kempinski Hotel, and its successful showing has now evolved into a full distribution of Luisita.

About Luisita

Distilled by Tarlac Distillery Corporation (TADISCO), Luisita Rum is a premium line of handcrafted rums distilled from indigenous ingredients that are grown in the Hacienda Luisita estate, a sugar plantation in the Tarlac province of Philippines.

The site has actually been distilling since the 1920's when it got its first coffey columns and the estate belongs to Central Azucarera de Tarlac, which is the largest sugar producer in the Philippines.

This eventually led to the creation of the modern Luisita. Currently the brand runs 100% independently.

Luisita Single Barrels

The two Luisita Single Barrels to mark the landmark event are the Luisita Single Barrel 2183 ex-Bourbon (58.8% ABV) and the Luisita Single Barrel Sherry Pedro Ximenez (62% ABV).

The Luisita Single Barrel 2183 ex-Bourbon (58.8% ABV) is a 6 year old bottling said to showcase "complexity, similar in style to some known rums from Barbados", while the Luisita Single Barrel Sherry Pedro Ximenez (62% ABV) is said to be "big and robust... with a firm PX influence,...coffee, herbal and tobacco notes, comparable to Guyana's Demerara's"

Both single barrels will be released from 1 April 2023 across key partners including several bars and hotels around Singapore, so keep a lookout.
