Macallan Heads To Mexico For New Distil Your World Edition

It looks like Macallan is headed for Mexico next for their Distil Your World series in collaboration with one of the world's best restaurants El Celler de Can Roca, operated by the Roca brothers in Girona, Spain.

This is the third edition of Macallan's Distil Your World, with previous cities featured including London and New York.

Each edition has featured a trip shared between a Macallan whiskymaker and one of the Roca brothers to a country of choice that inspires the flavors emphasised in the edition.

The Roca brothers, Joan, Josep and Jordi, are behind El Celler de Can Roca, which has been awarded three Michelin stars for its interpretation of Catalan cuisine. It was named Best Restaurant In The World twice by Restaurant Magazine, in 2013 and 2015, and consistently ranks amongst the top restaurants in the world.

This time, it seems like whiskymaker Diane Stuart is behind the new Distil Your World Mexico edition, selecting a combination of European and American oak casks (as is usually the case) to celebrate the "unforgettable Mexican celebration of life which takes place every year".

"Matured in a combination of meticulously selected oak casks, this whisky is inspired by the unforgettable Mexican celebration of life which takes place every year. Distil Your World Mexico brings together inspiration from the Roca brothers and the expertise of the Macallan Whisky Mastery Team to create a whisky that defines the character and spirit of this vibrant tradition."
