Macallan has announced the launch of Distil Your World Paris, the fifth edition of the acclaimed Distil Your World series.

Said to be a love letter to the elegance, sophistication and gastronomic artistry of the French capital, previous editions have explored New York, London, Mexico and Hong Kong.

The expression underwent a four-cask maturation process, beginning with American and European sherry-seasoned oak that the distillery says provides the foundational balance of floral sweetness and structural depth, while ex-Bourbon barrels infuse the spirit with tropical warmth. Lastly, the defining characteristic of this release is the addition of a rare Cognac cask finish.

Official notes present aromas that define Parisian flavors, such as sandalwood, gentle spice, almond croissant, and peach melba. These notes are aimed at evoking the city’s patisseries, perfumeries, and poetic streetscapes:

Nose: Almond croissants, rose aroma, sweet nectarines, sandalwood, vanilla pods.

Palate: Buttered pastry, brioche, peach melba, mille-feuille, toasted oak.

Finish: Gentle spices and warm oak.

Inspired by l’art de la table — the French philosophy of refined dining — this expression created by Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell celebrates every sensory detail of gastronomy, from provenance and preparation to the final ambiance of the setting.

Created in collaboration with the Roca brothers (owners of the twice-crowned "World’s Best Restaurant," El Celler de Can Roca), this release also aims to merge the precision of whisky-making with the artistry of haute cuisine to capture the sensory essence of the French capital.

The whisky’s natural color, Parisian Sunrise, was inspired by the first light seen from Montmartre, which casts a golden hue over the city. This edition’s presentation box features “street yellow,” is both a nod to Paris’s iconic street lighting as well as its reputation as the City of Light.

The design of the inner artwork was created in collaboration with Paris-based artist Cassandre Montoriol. Her expressive gouache illustrations depict a lively table d’hôte scene on a quintessential Parisian street, bathed in the glow of evening lights. The outer pack features a map tracing Campbell's journey through the city, with key locations elevated in sculptural detail, creating a beautiful and dynamic image.

To celebrate the launch, a sensory documentary captures a journey through the heart of Paris. Led by Campbell and Joan Roca, the film explores the origins of modern dining and the elegant ritual of l’art de la table.

In particular, it follows their encounters with legendary Parisian artisans and cultural custodians, including renowned multi-Michelin-starred Chef Anne-Sophie Pic, acclaimed artisanal baker Apollonia Poilâne and menu collector Jérôme Dumant.

Bottled at 47.2% ABV, Distil Your World Paris is now available directly from The Macallan and through select retailers at an MSRP of $4,750.
