Mandala Club, one of the most popular private member's clubs in Singapore, is shaking things up with some new leadership appointments. Jeff Connon will be taking the helm as the Club's new General Manager. This news follows on from recent expansions to their leadership team, signalling a new era of curated experiences for Mandala Club members.

Jeff Connon's track record speaks for itself – the Aussie comes armed with twenty years of experience at London's legendary The Groucho Club. If you're not familiar with The Groucho Club, let's just say it's a favourite haunt for many of London's creative crowd. As Managing Director, Connon helped make it the iconic institution it is today. At Mandala Club, he's set to take things up a notch, with a focus on next-level service and a commitment to fostering pillars like community, the arts, wellbeing, and sustainability.

Connon isn't coming in alone. He'll have the support of the Club's Chief Sustainability Officer, Lilly Milligan Gilbert who came on board late 2023. With her background of two decades in marine conservation and sustainability consulting, Lilly's presence shows the Club's serious about making a positive environmental impact.

Also enriching the leadership team are Richard D’Silva, Group Director of Membership, Culture and Community, and Laura Christian, the new Group Director of Marketing and Partnerships. Both Richard and Laura are fresh from key roles at London's The Ned - a stylish members' club that's been making waves.

“As a club built on the strength of community, Mandala Club truly is a product greater than the sum of its parts, with each team member bringing crucial elements to the table that define who we are,” said Ben Jones, CEO and Co-Founder of Mandala Group. “Jeff, along with our key appointments over the past year, embodies Mandala Club’s aspiration to be a group that is part of something bigger—a group that insists on respect for place and purpose, responsible citizenship, and sustainability. We’re excited about the future and what 2024 will bring for our community.”

Expanded global offerings and commitment to climate action

This leadership dream team isn't just about fresh faces. Mandala Club is getting adventurous and would be expanding its global offerings for members. Last quarter saw the launch of a four-month residence in Niseko Village, Japan – complete with partnerships with top players like YTL Hotels. And this is just the start! 2024 promises more exciting destinations and initiatives that will reflect the core of the Club’s ethos, including a launch in Bali. Mandala aims to ultimately serve its members by being a home of Conversation, Creation, Celebration and Connection.

In 2023, it took a strong stance on sustainability, becoming the first hospitality outfit in Singapore to join the United Nations Race to Zero campaign. Plus, they've achieved carbon neutrality for carbon emissions that it directly controls via travel and at the Club, with energy efficiency programmes to reduce the carbon footprint of the Club and a partnership with eco-tech company Green Steps to sequester carbon through nature regeneration. Now, that's showing genuine commitment to sustainability.
