Australian gem actress Margot Robbie wants to give the world a taste of that sweet laidback Aussie lifestyle with her new coastal gin, Papa Salt.
Margot and her husband Tom Ackerley, along with friends Charlie Maas, Josey McNamara and Regan Riskas together co-created the gin, as inspired by the Australian coast, and describes the gin as "easy-drinking gin that celebrates the subtle taste of native Australian botanicals".
Having experimented with over 59 variations of the gin over five years, they finally landed on a coastal gin that makes use of oyster shells, roasted wattleseed and pink peppercorn amongst several other local Australian botanicals. Other ingredients used includes wax flower, hibiscus and citrus peel.
Now the name is an interesting choice, and was chosen after a man from the Californian coastline whom the group of friends met while travelling and they believed embodied the characteristics of a beach bum, or as Aussies call them "salty sea dog".
The gin is bottled at 43% ABV and is made in Byron Bay, Australia, and is now available at an RRP of AU$85 per bottle.
