The gem of South Africa's rum game, Mhoba, appears to be paying tribute to their up and coming distiller Shaldon Engelbrecht, who's been a great feature for the team, working alongside founder Robert Greaves, and is said to be the friendliest face to greet anyone visiting the distillery!

For this, Mhoba will be producing a High Ester Overproof Rum entitled The Shaldon!

The rum was made with estate grown N49 and N57 cane harvested from August to November 2024, and which was distilled in a single and double still, bottled at 63% ABV.

This bottle contains rum, made from the juice of our own Nkomazi sugarcane, grown on the MHOBA Sugar Estate, near the small village of Malalane in South Africa.

THE SHALDON, named for the creator of this rum blend, is an intense expression of sugarcane showcasing robust and flavorful cuts from two different high ester marks. Made with: Passion, time, love and attention, fermented & distilled pure sugarcane juice and crystalline water. Nothing else!
