Sazerac’s The Last Drop To Release Foursquare's Oldest Rum For No. 43

The Last Drop Distillers has unveiled Release No. 43, a 22-year-old Barbados rum created by Foursquare Distillery owner and master distiller Richard Seale.

The bottling marks two significant milestones, serving as the inaugural rum in The Last Drop’s Signature Creation series and also the oldest expression ever released by Foursquare.

The liquid matured for over two decades entirely in Barbados, undergoing initial aging in ex-bourbon barrels before a final three-year finish in seasoned Port pipes.

The Last Drop has said that the rum opens with nose notes of marzipan, grapefruit zest, plum and guava; and on the palate flavors of pineapple, redcurrant, treacle and baking spice, with tobacco and clove on the finish.

Seale said the project had been in development since the early days of The Last Drop Assembly, a collective of leading distillers and blenders formed by The Last Drop.

Bottled at 53% ABV, just 566 bottles will be available worldwide with an MSRP of $1,700 per 700-milliliter bottle.
