Sazerac Unveils Flagshhip Tennessee Whiskey With AJ Bond Expression

Sazerac has launched its first-ever Tennessee whiskey, made at the AJ Bond distillery and whose creation was overseen by AJ Bond Distillery’s master distillers, Allisa Henley and the late John Lunn.

The whiskey’s name reflects the partnership that drove its creation, where their first team up in 2016 allowed them to combine decades of industry experience for this release. The flagship expression also marks the launch of the AJ Bond Distillery portfolio, which promises more expressions in the coming years.

The straight Tennessee whiskey is made from a single mash bill using locally sourced ingredients, such as corn from family-owned Batey Farms in Murfreesboro. It is then put through a dual-distillation process that utilises both pot and column stills.

In keeping with traditional category standards, the spirits are charcoal-mellowed using sugar maple, aged separately in Tennessee oak barrels, and finally married together.

The expression is said to have notes of of wedding cake, caramel corn, butterscotch, and a subtle redwood undertone. On the palate, it should present notes of baked apple, charred fruit, marzipan, powdered cinnamon and brandied cherry, with hints of cream soda and baking chocolate.

Bottled at 47.5% ABV, the AJ Bond Tennessee Whiskey is set to be released in Tennessee this month (June) through Sazerac’s distributor network, with an MSRP of US$39.99.

Following the initial launch, broader distribution to select US states is expected to begin in late 2026.
