Singapore's Sago House, a modern haven of mixology with a weekly updated cocktail menu, has bagged the coveted Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award, part of the esteemed Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2023! The accolade, voted for by the discerning 260-member Academy of Asia’s 50 Best Bars, speaks volumes of the exceptional experience Sago House offers in a competitive 18-month judging window.

This is the first in a series of two spectacular awards to be unveiled prior to the much-anticipated award ceremony slated for July 18, 2023.

As we march towards the eighth edition of Asia’s 50 Best Bars, generously sponsored by Perrier, excitement continues to mount. The grand unveiling will take place at a live ceremony at the luxurious Rosewood Hotel in Hong Kong, in partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board. This year's awards represent the first large-scale, restriction-free gathering of the Asian bar community since 2019.

Born out of the first lockdown in 2020, Sago House started its journey with a tempting selection of canned and bottled cocktails. Helmed by three industry powerhouses – Jay Gray, Desiree Jane, and Abhishek C George – Sago House transformed a third-floor Chinatown shophouse into a hotspot of hospitality. The namesake of its Sago Street address, the bar's interiors are an artful amalgamation of hand-crafted décor, 80% of which is composed of reused materials, and a stunning mural by the renowned Filipino artist, Distort Monsters.

The ever-evolving cocktail menu is a testament to the local market's bounty, with the bar team’s innovative use of native and seasonal ingredients from local wet markets. The creativity of the owners, veterans of Singapore's cocktail scene, ensures that Sago House remains a preferred spot for the local bar community.
