Sipsmith Commemorates Wimbledon With Top Seed Gin Made From Centre Court's Grass Seeds

In celebration of its fifth year as the official gin partner of The Wimbledon Championships, Sipsmith has launched a limited-edition gin that's a first for the gin world. Well, what makes it so special?

It's distilled with actual grass seeds from Wimbledon's iconic Centre Court!

Yep, Sipsmith's Top Seed gin incorporates the grass seeds from Wimbledon's Centre Court as one of its botanicals, blended through the same process as the brand's London Dry Gin.

The gin has been distilled precisely to 41.03% ABV, paying homage to Centre Court's 103rd birthday this year.Described by the distiller to have a ‘fresh and distinctive’ character, Sipsmith recommends enjoying the gin with cloudy apple juice, elderflower cordial, sour mix Supasawa (or lime juice) and topped with soda.

Tennis legend and former top seed (player) Sue Barker CBE hosted an exclusive event for the official unveiling of the gin, celebrating the marriage of sporting heritage and distilling.

The exclusive release will be a "secret serve" at Wimbledon's Pergola Bar during The Championships, and fans in the know can order The Top Seed cocktail off-menu. There's also a gift to go along with it! Those who order get a bag of Wimbledon grass seeds to grow their own botanicals.

If you can't make it to Wimbledon, you're still in luck! This exclusive gin is also available to members of Sipsmith's Sipping Society. You can join the society through their website or by visiting the Sipsmith distillery in Chiswick, London.
