South Korea's Ki One Distillery is collaborating with Korean artist Park Ki Woong on a two bottle series named the Ki One Special Reserve.

The Ki One Special Reserve comprises of a PX Sherry Cask expression and a New Oak Cask expression, which were inspired by Park Ki Woong's artwork "On The Rocks".

A thought surfaced as I tipped back a glass of whisky.

Danger never strays far, and bitterness is part of the pour, yet the view of life shifts completely with the way we drink it.

It is a truth to keep in mind as we move through the great machinery of society: we may be small pieces in the whole, yet in our own stories each of us is the shining lead.

Official Tasting Notes for PX Sherry Cask

Aroma: Sweet, rich fruits

Taste: Caramel, oriental spice, vanilla pods

Finish: Thick and creamy summer fruits and spice

 

Official Tasting Notes for American New Oak

Aroma: Rich oak with a caramel crunch

Taste: Vanilla Pods, Banana and sultana, hints of peach and long deep oriental spice

Finish: Long lingering spices give way to rich toffee and a forest of sweet oak

The two Ki One Special Reserve whiskies can also be purchased and enjoyed in the form of a food pairing course at a small pop-up at Lotte Jamsil Avenuel called ‘The Pairing’, which will run from 12th September to 25th September 2025.
