Spirits of Salud Unveils The Chichibu Code A First Ever Triple Cypher Locked Whisky

Independent bottler Salud Spirits has announced a new release for their Spirits of Salud brand, this time with a whisky that can be unlocked only after solving three riddles.
Its name is in theme with the packaging it comes in: A dark blue gift box secured with a metal combination lock. Access to the whisky is secured by a unique lock that requires the solution to three distinct riddles. Each successfully solved riddle reveals one digit, and only when the full three-digit code is cracked will the whisky within be obtainable.
The brand has said the process is a playful nod to secrecy, mastery, and the Japanese dedication to detail.

Distilled on August 3, 2017, The Chichibu Code #8275 comprises of heavily peated single malt-crafted from Odyssey barley which underwent maturation in a first-fill bourbon cask, after which it was bottled in June 2025 at 65.8% after aging for seven years.
It is said to have these flavors:
-
Nose
- Candied Bacon, Caramel, Pine, Roasted Beef
-
Palate
- Peppered roast beef, Honeyed sweetness, Beeswax, Roasted pineapple, Papaya brûlée.
-
Finish
- Long and umami-driven, leaving a velvety mouthfeel and lingering layers of tropical fruits.
The release is also one of the most exclusive Chichibu expressions to date, with only 180 bottles available worldwide, with one already reserved for the Venture Whisky archive.
