Starward Marries Sauvignon Blanc And Malt Barley In New Co-Ferment Grape x Malt Australian Spirit Expression
Fans of Starward will be delighted to hear of a new expression that will soon be released: The Starward Co-Ferment Grape x Malt Australian Spirit!
The creation of this whisky was led by Head Distiller and Blender Carlie Dyer who has always been fascinated by winemaking. She had the idea of co-fermenting malt and grapes in a collision of two ancient crafts.
This distinctive spirit begins with an equal blend of freshly crushed Cabernet Sauvignon juice and Starward's signature malted barley wash. This blend was then co-fermented and distilled before its full maturation in both fresh and charred Australian red wine barrels for almost six years.
As the brand says, it’s not a whisky and it’s not a wine either, but distinctly Starward.
