Suntory Rounds Up 100th Anniversary Expressions With Hibiki Releases

Suntory's 100th Anniversary of Japanese Whisky celebrations are well under way and we've now seen the release of the ceremonially packaged Yamazaki's, Hakushu's, as well as the respective canned highballs, all that's been left has been the celebratory Hibiki's, NAS and 21 Year Old.

And now we've got them!

Suntory Hibiki 100th Anniversary NAS

As per Suntory, "the bottle design of Hibiki Japanese Harmony 100th Anniversary Edition is inspired by our relentless pursuit of quality, ingenuity and expressiveness – rooted in “Monozukuri” craftsmanship and Japanese culture.

A celebration of Suntory Whisky's centennial milestone, the design features a bridge with the traditional Japanese art of Setsugekka – snow, moon and flowers to showcase the passing of seasons. The bridge is a connection to each of the four seasons connecting our past and future, in the hope that tradition and history won’t be forgotten, always to be respected as we look forward. The unique 24-faceted bottle represents 24 hours in a day, with 24 Japanese seasons in a year."

Suntory Hibiki 100th Anniversary 21 Year Old

"In celebration of a century of Japanese whisky, Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo and his team of blenders challenged themselves to rethink the Art of Blending for Hibiki.

They chose to use of the legendary Mizunara oak as a sign of respect for Japanese heritage, rather than the more traditional sherry cask. The final blend is an exploration of how a single detail can alter the whole alchemy, creating this extraordinary whisky."
