The Big Apple Gets Its Own Clase Azul Apple Brandy Finished Anejo Tequila

Say what you will but Clase Azul really knows the hype game through and through - the Tequila brand has announced the launch of its new The Loft Brooklyn Collection that pays homage to New York City.

With just 1,000 1-litre decanters made, you'll need an invite to be able to even make a purchase of the new Clase Azul Anejo that has been aged for 20 months in ex-American whisky casks and subsequently finished off in ex-Calvados (apple brandy produced in Normandy, France) barrels, and then housed in a bottle that is given a turquoise paint coat to remind us of the Statue of Liberty, as well as an Art Deco finish that is said to reinterpret the iconic Chrysler Building in Manhattan.

It's topped off with an oxidised rust aesthetic metal bell topper that should evoke New York skyscrapers.

The new Clase Azul The Loft Brooklyn Collection is said to be priced at US$1,250 per bottle.

As for how we should expect it to taste? Clase Azul only tells us to expect "a spirit that is both smooth and complex". Figures.

Kanpai!
