Independent bottler The Last Drop Distillers have unveiled their 2026 collection, which include two expressions from defunct and demolished distilleries: Trinidad’s Caroni Distillery, known for its industrial background, and Scotland’s Carsebridge Distillery, renowned for its grain whisky heritage.
Release No. 41 is a 25-year-old Trinidad rum, while Release No. 42 is a 60-year-old single grain Scotch whisky. Both releases are said to celebrate the long maturation process and the unique characteristics of the two distilleries.
The 25-year-old Caroni is a blend of two Bourbon cask-aged rums, with one distilled in 1997, and the other in 1999.
The rum is said to offer aromas of roasted nuts, spiced oak, pineapple, vanilla, and delicate floral notes of orange blossom and jasmine. The palate follows with notes of sweet papaya, stewed hibiscus flower, spiced ginger cake, green banana leaf, white pepper, and some smoke.
Bottled at 65.2% ABV with 261 bottles, the rum has an MSRP of £1,750 (US$2,380).
On the other hand, the 60-year-old whisky was distilled in 1965 during the Carsebridge distillery's twilight years before its closure in 1983, and is drawn from ex-Bourbon cask No. 160237
The whisky is said to present notes of toffee, baking spices, sweet fruit, and clove on the nose, followed by toasted almonds, crème brûlée, and oak‑spice on the palate.
Bottled at 42.4% ABV and limited to 140 bottles, the expression has an MSRP of £3,700 (US$5,030).
Each bottle from this year's collection is wax-sealed, individually numbered, and presented in a bespoke case that includes a 50ml miniature, a pocket-sized tasting book, and an engraved stopper cork.
The 2026 Collection will be available in limited quantities across the UK and at select high-end retailers, bars, and restaurants.
