A unique collection of 120 single bottles of Velier's Tiger Shark blended rum will be released as part of the Single Bottle project. The project hopes to tell the story of Velier's chief Luca Gargano's experiences and encounters during his travels around the world in search of the finest rums. Each of the 120 bottles will feature a unique photo taken by Luca, a passionate photographer, making every bottle one of a kind.
"The Single Bottle project tells the story of his experiences and encounters through the strength and natural emotion offered by off-the-cuff photos taken of people, locations, food and of course rum, from its raw ingredients to its distillation and maturation.
Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Barbados, Cape Verde and even Japan... with each bottling this collection offers a snapshot of 20 years spent exploring the world!"

The collection of 120 bottles of Tiger Shark comes from stock stashed away from when the blended rum was bottled in 2019. Tiger Shark, the second expression in the Velier Royal Navy range, features a blend of rums from distilleries in the former British West Indies. The pure vatted rum was fully distilled using pot stills and aged in the tropical climate in ex-bourbon casks, bottled at Navy Strength of 57.18% ABV. The Royal Navy range of rums commemorates the rums enjoyed by sailors of the British Royal Navy.
The Tiger Shark is said to be lush and powerful, with esters dominating the nose, and a palate that leans towards citrus and candied tropical fruit. The finish showcases oaky aromas, chocolates, spices and heady flowers that demonstrates great complexity of the blend.

Official Tasting Notes
Aroma
Intense ripe banana, raspberry and mango, fresh kitchen herbs, some coastal salinity.
Taste
Chocolate orange, cigar box, clove and cardamom spiciness with some old oak thrown in there for good measure.
Finish
Another helping of raspberry, now with raisin and sultana in support. Banana notes stick around too, with brown sugar and liquorice.
Kanpai!
